Everyone You Know Does It, So What Is Procrastination?







It's something that we talk about a lot and is a favorite past time for many, but what is procrastination? It's a habit that is universally connecting, it shows up year after year on New Year's resolution lists, but how do we really define this procrastination.

Simply put procrastination is the conscious and deliberate act of putting off a task that needs to be completed. More thanlikely if you procrastinate you have become skilled at doing a whole lot of nothing.

You constantly keep yourself busy with inconsequential tasks just for the sake of doing something. Meanwhile deadlines are coming and going and you're missing appointments because you're finishing up assignments that you have put off to the last minute.

At it's core when we talk about what procrastination is, it's really a utter disregard for yourself and the goals that you have set for yourself. It's a deceptive game that you are playing with yourself and you are losing sorely.

Procrastination negatively affects your health as it can lead to stress and accelerate health problems, it can affect your relationships because you are constantly scrambling to finish up things that you have put off and so life ends up passing you by.

Overtime this habitual practice of putting things off will become increasingly difficult to deal with. Procrastinationis supported by the belief that tomorrow is always the better day to get going on a particular task.

Procrastination is also connected to bad time management because one directly affects the other. Very often the answer to improving procrastination is by adopting better time management skills and vice verse.
