We all know that time management and stress are related, but how? Many scientists struggle to really define stress because it varies greatly from person to person. The symptoms of stress can be manifested in many different ways. The downside is that stress, when used incorrectly, can be very harmful. Your neighbor, your boss, your best friend have all dealt with stress or a stressful situation at one time or another. As you may have heard, not all stress is bad. Awareness is often the firststep. Stop just trying to be 'busy'. You know what I'm talking about. Some of us just do things so that we look busy. That's not the case it just adds more to our plate and when that plate is not organized properly things can get out of hand. Take time to have a lunch. Very often many of us gobble down a quick lunch at our desks or work through lunch to get more done. Time management is all about managing yourself better, not so much your time. It's so important to take breaks to re-energize yourself and of course the food itself is key to maintaining your energy and sugar levels. I know what you're thinking, sometimes things come up at work that are out of your control. For example,there are times when you get interrupted by others. If you work at home or in an office make a point to actually set your work hours. Believe it or not many of us don't have set work hours. We should write them down and post them on our office doors or cubicles so that our colleagues and family members understand what our work hours are. You should also include your lunch breaks. It's a really great way to pace yourself. Also don't underestimate the power of the little black book. An actual day planner is so important. It doesn't have to beelectrical, the paper kind will do, plus you don't have to worry about batteries dying. We've got to get out of this habit of overdoing things. Learn to work smarter not harder. Make the decision today that you are going to manage your time better and have a healthy life as a result. Time management and stress are certainly related.
