There are certain leadership traits that every leader possesses. Whenever we think about good or even bad leaders, there are a few traits that always pop up.

Here are the top leadership traits that most leaders possess

Must be inspiring:

In order to be an effective leader, you must be able to move and motivate others to achieve a particular goal or to make some kind of change.

Very often you can be inspiring even if you have no other real skills. Being able to inspire people often means you have to be good at telling stories which will allow you to relate and connect with others.

People genuinely want to be inspired. Inspired people are motivated to work hard towards a goal.

Must have a vision for the future:

Your ability to be forward looking is a great leadership trait. A good leader thinks about today and most importantly about tomorrow.

They are effective planners and are always thinking ahead to the future. You always have to have the big picture in mind.

Must have dedication:

A good leader must have dedication. You could have the greatestideas in the world for your organization, but without the dedication to stick with the plan no matter what, then what's the point.

A good leader puts in all the time and energy it takes to get the job done. This kind of dedication is infectiousand if your team sees you giving your all, they will do the same.

Must be a good decision maker:

Leaders very often have to make tough decisions. With this in mind you must have some system in place that would allow you to make good decisions and fast.

Whether this plan involves consulting a certain team or asking yourself a predetermined set of questions, some process must be in order to help you make decisions.

Must be aware that you don't know it all: Yes you're the leader but let's face it you don't know everything.

A good leader understands their strengths and weaknesses and the strength and weaknesses of his/her team. You have to be willing to delegate and pass off assignments to people who are better equipped than you are.

Being aware of what you don't know is an important leadership quality.

These traits belong to strong leaders. Regardless of the size of your team or the size of your goals, having a leader with the right set of traits will make for a better team and a more successful outcome.
