Amazing Goal Setting Tools

Let's face it, goal setting can sometimes be challenging but there are a number of goal setting tools that you can utilize to make that process a lot more manageable. Why not try to incorporate one or all of the following tools for goal setting into your goal plan.

Create a goal journal. Note that a goal journal should not be your primary site for writing down your goals. It is a simple way to give you motivation and to keep you accountable, by tracking your progress and plans.

Your goal journal may be a neat book or binder. Use dividers to separate each of your goals and designate a pen just for writing in your goal journal.

You will want to add materials or resources that relate to each goal. Add items like photos or even poems or quotes that motivate and inspire you. Write down your feelings toward each goal everyday.

You should also have an accountability page for your journal. Put one goal on the top of the blank page and summarize it. Answer questions like why do you want this goal and how it will feed your values and beliefs. Also include up to three daily tasks you need to complete to achieve your goal.

At the end of each day in that month indicate whether or not you completed the necessary task for the day. It is as easy asputting a check mark or a smiley face when you have achieved it and an X or a sad face when you haven't.

At the end of the month set aside some time to go over your progress, doing this with a friend is recommended. Organize a nice treat if you have met your monthly goal.

If you are still eager for other goal setting tools, here's another that is of great importance if you still find you have a problem sticking to your goals.

Use something called an Affirmation, it is a statement that will help you formulate a more positive belief in your goal. There are three elements to stating affirmations: Positive, Present Tense, Personal and Emotive.

The positive element refers to the need to set goals in positive terms. See your goals in picture form and focus on what you want NOT what you don't want.

The Present tense purports that goals stated in the 'now' will more likely be recognized by the self conscious. When you combine this with "I am" you are creating a powerful combination that will increase the likelihood of success. i.e "I am in control of my destiny."

Personal and emotive refers to the creation of goals that are in alignment with you and your values and beliefs. The more emotion you attach to your goal the better.

These goal setting tools will help you kick start your journey to success and can help you achieve your goals faster.
