Lost Your Motivation? Learn The Big Secret To Finding Motivation Again
We have all misplaced keys or a pair of sunglasses, but finding motivation again is probably one of the hardest things tolocate. The interesting thing is that when we lose our keys or glasses we tend to turn the house upside down before we find it again. But when it comes to motivation, we don't seem to try as hard to find our motivation once again. Why is that? It just might be that we are so consumed with doing things perfectly and get things right the very first time. We lose steam to do a particular task because we feel like we may fall short in some way. Think about why we sometimesprocrastinate to make up our beds (present company included), we hesitate because we think it will just get messed up again. In other words we will never be able to create the perfect scenario. For many people we have dreams and aspirations to be more than we are. We all have career goals, goals for our families or evenhealth goals. But we tend to get caught up in the dream itself and not the process. We don't familiarize ourselves with exactly what needs to be done and the steps we need to take to complete that goal. With that awareness we will be more equipped to do the job. People perform better when they know why and exactly what needs to be done. The other thing to consider when finding motivation, is that motivation is very much linked to interest. If you areinterested in something then chances are you will be more willing to complete what is expected of you. Some of you might be saying "But of course I am interested in my goals." This might be true but you may not be interested in thetedious steps that you have to take to lead you to completing that particular goal. Do you see how that works? We have to try to find 'the interest' in the projects or tasks that we may not want to do. This might mean tricking your mind into believing that you're doing something that's much more fun and enjoyable. This might also involve focusing on the benefits you will gain once you complete that task. If the end goal is of interest to you figure out how you can channel that excitement into the perhaps tedious tasks that you have to do to achieve your goal. Finding motivation is all about being aware. It's understanding that the perfect time will never come along and all you have to do is try your best. It's also about being aware of the fact that you have to be willing to consciously find "the interest" in that which you may not be immediately interested in.
