Build self confidence by identifying limiting beliefs can only control you if you let them. The quicker you identify them, the faster you can eliminate them. Have you ever wondered why you seem to let so much opportunity pass you by? You know deep down inside you can do something, but somehow something takes control over yourself and before you know it you have just willingly handed over your own piece of cake to somebody else. Then you wonder just what is wrong with you and the vicious cycle goes on and on and continues to hamper your personal growth. The actual culprit that robs you of these precious opportunities are your limiting beliefs. They can be hard to figure out at first but soon as you have discovered and accepted that you have formed these beliefs unconsciously, you will know why they grip over you that tightly. These beliefs are wrongly formed perceptions about your self. Sometimes they are too negative and there are also beliefs that tend to demand a lot from you. Regardless of the context, limiting beliefs are vicious and unhealthy. How Do They Form? These ideals get ingrained in your system over a long period of time. For the most part, it can be caused by emotional stress leading to emotional trauma. As you were a child, you might have experienced having extremely demanding parents who made it a point to let you know of the things you just can't achieve. They can also be formed during adulthood, as evident with wives who lose self-confidence as they get abused and neglected by their husbands and even their own kids. Sometimes these negative beliefs are triggered by negative emotions and eventually become a part of your psyche. The thing is that these limiting beliefs get ingrained in your system unconsciously. When you keep on a repeating a negative thought about yourself, you end up believing it and eventually using it as reason to keep from doing something you used to be confident about. How Do You Build Self Confidence? It does take time and a lot of self-introspection to get rid of limiting beliefs. It's also eliminated much better and much faster if you have a support system who feeds you with the much needed positivity to flush out the toxicity that these beliefs bring in. The first step to identifying your limitations is paying attention to how you feel. Sometimes it helps to take note of how you feel in certain situations so you can identify why you felt such emotions and the possible triggers. As you do this, the next thing you should do is be honest with yourself. Does the situation really warrant you to feel low or incapable? Or was there an underlying reason why you felt like you could not do it? When you answer these questions, you should also be prepared to open your mind to the possibilities you can have when you let those beliefs go. Very often people use their beliefs and the negative energy it brings to help make them feel safe. This is why support groups are important as they can provide you real solace, and help to build self confidence.
